From the Principal
Welcome to Springfield School! Springfield School is home to approximately 425 pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students. Simply stated in a word, our mission here at Springfield is “KIDS!” The Springfield community works to provide a safe, nurturing and educationally sound learning environment in which students are encouraged to do their very best. Students are guided to develop positive social skills so that they will become responsible and productive citizens. Springfield School celebrates its diversity which provides a microcosm of the world in which we live. We strive everyday to make Springfield School that “garden where every child grows!”

Just Past and Coming up
October is here and so is the second half of the first quarter! Please remember to check your child’s homework assignments nightly. Excellent home-school communication and parental support are the keys to academic success!
We had a great turn out for our first Parent Group meeting of the year! Thank you to all our families who supported the Parent Group’s pizza kit fundraising effort. The Parent Group Taffy Apple Sale ends Oct. 13th with delivery on Oct. 28th. We thank our Parent Group for all their efforts on behalf of our children.
Springfield School will celebrate the “Great Pumpkin” with our “Guess the Pumpkin’s Weight Contest” (Oct. 21st) and the parade/classroom parties on Oct. 31st. Please remember that even on Halloween, toy weapons are not allowed at school. We want to be consistent and clear to our children about this. Be a pirate, but leave the dagger at home! Children should come to school dressed in their costume. We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our parade at 1:15 p.m. (note the time change) on Oct. 31st.
